Home inspections

A home inspection is a chance to learn more about a property before deciding what to do next. Walker Home Pros provides home inspections with Matt Walker across Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yuba, and Yolo counties. Start by sharing the property address, approximate interior size, type of structure, and your timing.
What a typical home inspection covers
The outline below describes common inspection areas. Matt will confirm the specific scope, accessibility requirements, and exclusions in your inspection agreement.
Outside and structure
Discuss the roofing, exterior surfaces, visible foundation and structural components, and accessible areas around the property. Site conditions and access can affect what can be observed.
Systems and function
Ask about the electrical, plumbing, water heating, heating, and cooling components included in the visit. Identify any systems you have particular questions about when you book.
Interior and living spaces
Confirm the agreed review of interior surfaces, doors, windows, accessible attic areas, insulation, and any built-in appliances. Let Matt know about locked areas or other access limitations in advance.
From request to follow-up
- Describe the property. Share the address, property type, approximate size, timeline, and any concerns. Confirm scope, pricing, and availability directly with Matt.
- Plan the visit. Arrange access and discuss attendance. Bring questions about the areas and systems included in the inspection.
- Review the findings. Receive a clear, same-day report. Ask Matt for clarification and discuss any recommended follow-up.
Home inspection questions
How much does an inspection cost?
Ask Matt for a quote based on the property’s size, age, location, structure type, and inspection needs. Additional buildings, units, or specialty services should be discussed before the appointment.
Can I attend, and when will I get the report?
Matt provides clear, same-day reports. Discuss attendance and access when scheduling, and let him know about any deadlines or questions you would like to cover.
Does a general inspection cover everything?
A general home inspection focuses on the visible, accessible components in the agreed scope. It cannot reveal every concealed issue or predict future performance. Ask about exclusions and any separate services you need.
What about an unusual structure?
Choose your property type and describe any additional structures in the request form. Matt will confirm the appropriate scope and availability for your specific property before booking. A request is not a confirmed appointment.
